A Must See Movie

Of all of the movies I have seen, one of my favorites is Seven Pounds. Seven

Pounds is a great mystery movie that keeps you guessing from the start, which I like. I

also like the movie because Will Smith one of the main characters. He is a really good

actor and I think he was a good choice for the role in this movie. There is also some

action and suspense in the movie to keep you entertained. Another reason I really

enjoyed this movie is because it has a twist ending, and you never figure out what was

seven pounds. I think everyone should watch this if they enjoy mysterious movies and

unexpected endings. This is why Seven Pounds is one of my favorite movies.

2010-Giving Gifts

Christmas is one of the best times of the year, but Christmas isn't all about getting gifts from your friends and family. Giving gifts is a big part in Christmas and it gives you a wonderful feeling to give someone a gift and to see the look on their face when they open it. One of the gifts I gave this year was a little toy doll for my little cousin. She really liked it a lot and wanted to start playing with it as soon as she opened it! That made me feel really good and that was my favorite Christmas gift I gave this year.

The Odyssey- Book Vs. Movie

After reading the Odyssey and watching the movie, I have noticed many differences between the two. Whether there are scenes skipped, added, re-modified, or they stay the same to one another, both the book and movie of The Odyssey share the same story.

Character personality traits and conflicts are very similar between the book and movie of the Odyssey. For example, Odysseus's character is very much the same in the book and movie because he is very smart and witty in battles. He also has a problem with women along his journey back home. Penelope is another character that is very similar in the book and movie. She is very emotionally strong and patient in how she waits twenty years for Odysseus to return and had faith that he was still alive. There are also similarities between the conflicts in the movie and book. Odysseus still faces Scylla and Charybdis in his long journey home and how Penelope's internal feeling of Odysseus being gone for so long is the same.

Comparing the book and the movie of the Odyssey, there are many new scenes added in the movie or scenes that were completely cut out or changed. One of the scenes in the text that was changed in the movie is the Lotus Eaters scene. In the text, Odysseus and his men went to an island with Lotus Eaters while in the movie, the lotus blossoms were given by Circe. Which made him and his men stay longer with Circe for five years. That is also different from the text because in the text, Odysseus and his men only stayed with Circe for a year, not five years.

I found this film to be very entertaining for the most part. I like adventurous movies and this one caught my attention with all the adventures and struggles Odysseus has to go through before he can get home to his wife. One of my favorite scenes would be the Cyclopes scene because it demonstrated very well how the Cyclopes are and their way of living and how Odysseus tricks the Cyclopes by telling him his name is Nohbdy. I also enjoyed watching the scene where Penelope is asked hundreds of times to re-marry and choose one of the men to be her next husband, but she has faith in Odysseus and stalls by weaving and is true to her husband. Another reason why I liked this movie is because it is an older movie and I enjoyed watching how they made older movies and the graphics they used to make them. Overall this was a great movie.

Blog Topic 8

The five animals that I read about was the California Red Legged Frog, Grizzly Bear, Panther, the Manatee, and Polar Bears. It is sad to me that all of these animals are endangered because of humans. Whether its because of mining, hunting or destroying habitats, we are the cause of the loss of these great animals. Of these five animals the one that I think is the worst would be the Panthers. It says that there are only about 100 of them left and they live in small part of Florida. Panthers are also the most endangered species on the Earth. We need to stop and help save the Panthers because with only about 100 of them left, if we keep this up they will soon die out. This could greatly effect the food chain and the environment. One thing we can do to save the Panthers and the other animals is to stop destroying their habitats. Or provide a breeding ground or place for the animals where they will be ave and can grow.

My Near Death Experience

One event that really impacted my life was the day I  had a near to death experience. A few year ago, I was on a youth trip to Beach Bend Park. The whole day was going perfect, it was sunny outside, no lines, and great rides. All the rides were great until my friend and I can upon a ride that could of seriously changed my life. At the end of the day, my friend wanted me to go on this one ride that flips you upside down and the chairs move and everything. Well i wasn't too sure about it but I decided to ride it anyway. We get on the ride and it begins to start. Just as we are lifted high up into the air, my friend and i realize that our bars had come undone. Meaning that it could rise up any second and we could fall out and have serious or fatal injuries. We tried to tell the person controlling the ride but it was too late. He couldn't hear us. Amazingly, we find a safety belt and latch it on. Though it wasn't very tight and we still could of fallen out, we somehow managed to stay in. After getting off that ride, I was shaking and still in shock of what happened, but at the same time extremely happy that I am not hurt and still alive to this day!

Overpopulation Crisis

Overpopulation is a huge crisis in some countries today. Asia has way far too many people with very little food. We, America, as of right now aren't overpopulated but we have wasted far too much food. China's population is growing very rapidly also, being as large of a country as it is. One thing that might be causing overpopulation faster is having a baby at an early age. This brings more children and people in the world faster than we would think, and it is happening a lot over the past years. Another reason for overpopulation in countries is when a lot of immigrants move into one country looking for a good job and a new life, which is good for them but too many people coming over looking for jobs can cause an overpopulation crisis.
